🚀 Getting Started

Welcome to SafeWINE! This project provides a user-friendly way to run Windows applications on your Linux system. SafeWINE is designed specifically for Meadows Linux and uses a special technology called LXC to ensure that applications run smoothly and securely.

📦 System Requirements

To run SafeWINE, you need:

• A computer with Meadows Linux installed
• At least 2 GB of RAM
• 500 MB of available disk space
• Basic understanding of how to use a terminal (but don’t worry, we will guide you through the process)

🔗 Download & Install

To get started, visit the SafeWINE Releases page to download the application.

Follow these steps to download and install:

1. Click the “Releases” link above.
2. Look for the latest version.
3. Download the .tar.gz file.
4. Extract the .tar.gz file to your preferred folder.

If you’re unsure how to extract files, you can usually do this by right-clicking the downloaded file and selecting “Extract Here” or using the terminal command:

tar -xvzf filename.tar.gz

Replace filename.tar.gz with the actual name of the file you downloaded.

🛠️ Running SafeWINE

Once extracted, you can run SafeWINE directly from the terminal:

1. Open a terminal window.
2. Navigate to the directory where you extracted the files. You can do this by typing:

cd path/to/your/extracted/folder

Replace path/to/your/extracted/folder with the actual path.

1. Next, start SafeWINE by typing:

./start-safewine.sh

This command runs the application. Following this, you will see a user interface that allows you to select and launch Windows applications.

📋 Using SafeWINE

SafeWINE is built to be user-friendly, even for those who are not technically minded. Here’s how you can use it:

1. Select Application: Use the interface to choose the Windows application you want to run.
2. Configure Settings: You may adjust settings as needed, such as screen resolution or sound options.
3. Launch Application: Click the “Run” button, and your Windows app will start as if it’s running on a native Windows machine.
